I love the use of the stair as seating. The walkways above provide a bit of a voyeurism that is great. I am a bit of an acoustic nut though. If this is used for dance (Which I assume would have music), you would really have to look at the way you orient the glass wall (channel glass?). It looks like the space would have some really bad flutter echo and would reflect too much on the high end. That doesn't mean get rid of the glass! I love it! Acoustics can help articulate it.
13 weeks/ challenges/ critiques = 13 ways to probe and produce architecture.
Each week a design challenge will be reviewed and a new challenge will be issued. Therefore, each challenge requires that students generate and commit to an architectural response in a limited time frame. Each challenge will be client or context driven. Projects scale will vary (from body to building to city). Project contexts will vary (animal, vegetable, mineral…virtual). At each review three projects will be given merit and one will be exhibited. Although there will be winners, there will be no losers. Each student will produce up to 13 projects and a final studio catalogue.
